Sheriff’s office: Woman batters husband over cooking dinner fight

SPRING HILL Mariesol Cruz, 22, was arrested Thursday evening on charges of domestic battery after striking her husband in an argument over who was going to cook dinner.According to the Hernando County Sheriff Office’s arrest affidavit, when Cruz’s husband tried to leave the home with their 3-year-old daughter, Cruz began “punching, grabbing and clawing at him.”
Cruz told responding deputies that her husband grabbed her by her neck, and that she was just defending herself, but the woman was taken into custody because due to “no visible bruises or redness.”
Cruz is being held on no bond at the Hernando County Jail. Records show she has not been arrested in the recent past.
